Health experts advocate for nutritional consistency over fad diets

Health experts and specialists are cautioning against extreme fad diets and emphasizing the importance of nutritional consistency and simple, whole foods. Many popular trends, such as total carbohydrate elimination or short-term detox programs, lack scientific foundation or long-term sustainability.

Dr. Manuel Viso, a hematologist, highlights three essential components for health inspired by the Mediterranean diet: coffee, extra virgin olive oil, and high-biological-value proteins. Dr. Viso describes coffee as an excellent antioxidant and cardioprotective agent that can reduce inflammation and cognitive deterioration, noting that adults should generally stay below 400 mg of caffeine daily.

Extra virgin olive oil is also identified as a vital nutrient source due to its high levels of oleic acid and polyphenols, which assist in regulating cholesterol and blood pressure. Experts suggest that sustainable health improvements come from varied meals containing vegetables, fruits, proteins, and healthy fats, rather than restrictive or expensive programs.
