Health experts issue warnings on toxic foods and hydration guidelines

Health experts are issuing warnings regarding specific foods that can pose significant health risks if consumed incorrectly. The durian fruit, while popular in Southeast Asia, can cause sudden blood pressure drops and heart rhythm irregularities if consumed alongside alcohol. The Dragon's Breath chili is noted for causing shortness of breath and severe stomach spasms, with experts noting it was primarily developed for laboratory research rather than consumption. Additionally, the rhubarb plant (ışkın) carries risks; while the stalks are edible, the leaves contain high levels of oxalic acid which can lead to kidney failure.

Regarding hydration, experts are challenging the rigid notion that everyone must drink a specific amount of water daily. According to the National Academy of Medicine, total daily fluid intake recommendations are 3.7 liters for men and 2.7 liters for women, but these figures include fluids from food and other beverages like tea and coffee. Approximately 20 percent of daily fluid intake typically comes from food. Individual needs vary significantly based on body weight, physical activity levels, and environmental temperature.
