Health experts offer advice on managing fatigue and improving sleep
Experts provide guidance on managing fatigue and improving sleep quality through lifestyle and dietary adjustments.
Nutritional therapist Kristýna Kubíková notes that diet significantly impacts daily energy levels. To combat fatigue, she recommends consuming nutrient-dense foods such as oats, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and healthy fats. Key vitamins including C, D, and the B-complex, along with minerals like zinc, potassium, iron, and magnesium, are essential. She advises maintaining regular meal intervals to avoid glucose fluctuations and suggests avoiding processed foods, excessive caffeine, and simple sugars, while ensuring adequate hydration.
Regarding sleep difficulties, Abhinav Singh of the Indiana Sleep Center suggests several routines to reduce stress and mental activity before bed. Recommended practices include journaling to process emotions, planning the following day's tasks to reduce anxiety, and listening to calming stories. Physical relaxation techniques, such as taking a warm shower or using lavender-scented products, are also beneficial. Additionally, a small snack containing tryptophan or melatonin, such as turkey or eggs, may support better sleep.
