Health experts recommend daily walking for adults 55+ and targeted arm workouts for muscle growth

Fitness specialists advise that people aged 55 and older should walk at least 20 minutes each day, use stairs when possible and keep a moderately brisk pace to raise breath slightly. Regular walking helps preserve autonomy, mobility, cardiovascular health and combats age‑related muscle loss, though it should be complemented with strength training two to three times a week to maintain muscle mass and prevent falls.

Separate guidance for building bigger arms stresses that the triceps and forearms account for most arm volume. A balanced routine should combine elbow‑flexion movements (e.g., hammer curls, inclined dumbbell curls, preacher‑bench curls, barbell curls) with triceps work such as dips, plus grip‑strength exercises. This approach targets all muscle groups from shoulder to wrist for a fuller, stronger appearance.
