Health experts urge walking and oily fish to lower cholesterol

Doctor Amir Khan highlighted the benefits of regular walking, recommending at least 30 minutes a day to improve heart health, strengthen joints, lower the risk of certain cancers, boost the immune system and reduce stress.

Performance nutritionist and dietitian Richard Allison advised that eating oily fish twice a week provides omega‑3 fats that support heart health, while reducing saturated fats, increasing fruit and vegetable intake, and exercising for 150 minutes a week with strength training further help lower cholesterol. He also urged quitting smoking, limiting alcohol and maintaining a healthy weight.

Together, the advice emphasizes simple lifestyle changes—daily walking and regular consumption of oily fish—aimed at reducing high cholesterol and related cardiovascular risks.
