Health experts warn against daily ice cream consumption

Experts advise caution regarding daily ice cream consumption during summer due to high sugar and fat content. While ice cream provides calcium and protein, different varieties carry varying nutritional profiles.

Milk-based ice cream typically contains significant amounts of fat and sugar, with a single 60g scoop of vanilla ice cream providing approximately 120 calories and 12 to 15 grams of sugar. Fruit-based ice creams often have lower fat content but maintain similar sugar levels. Sorbets are fat-free but frequently contain high sugar concentrations to compensate for the lack of fat. Even vegan alternatives, often made from coconut, almond, or oat milk, may contain high levels of saturated fats or additives.
