Health experts warn of accumulated heatstroke and summer fatigue

Medical experts are warning of “accumulated heatstroke” and “modern summer fatigue” as temperatures remain high into September. Unlike typical heatstroke that develops rapidly, accumulated heatstroke results from several days of fatigue, sleep deprivation, and dehydration, leading to symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and loss of appetite.

Doctors note that modern summer fatigue is often exacerbated by more than just heat; it is driven by temperature fluctuations between indoor air conditioning and the outdoors, irregular eating habits, stress, and disrupted autonomic nervous systems. To combat these issues, experts recommend maintaining hydration, ensuring adequate sleep in temperature-controlled environments, and improving nutrition.

In response to these health trends, some companies are implementing nutritional support in the workplace. For example, Oisix has introduced flaxseed oil into its employee cafeteria services. Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential nutrients that may help manage inflammation related to physical fatigue.
