Health experts warn of rising respiratory virus season in Germany
Medical professionals are anticipating an increase in respiratory viruses during the upcoming autumn and winter seasons. Experts expect a rise in influenza, COVID-19, and RSV, noting that the flu season typically begins in September or October and peaks between December and January.
To mitigate risks, doctors recommend a combination of vaccinations, testing, and non-pharmaceutical hygiene measures.
In response to seasonal health concerns, the Bavarian Ministry of Health has introduced a digital prevention pool to help citizens find health and prevention courses. In Augsburg, local initiatives such as ‘Augsburg in Bewegung’ are offering free outdoor exercise classes, including yoga and circuit training, in various city parks through November 1 to promote physical and mental well-being.
