Mexican States Expand Health and Day‑Care Services for Seniors
In Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, the Secretaría de Desarrollo Humano y Bien Común and the Secretaría de Salud brought a mobile health fair to the local Casa de los Abuelos. More than 100 older adults received free medical consultations, dental check‑ups, vaccinations, blood‑pressure and diabetes screening, STI testing and tuberculosis detection, as part of the MediChihuahua program.
In Izúcar de Matamoros, Puebla, the Sistema Estatal para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (SEDIF) reopened a new day‑care centre called “Paseo de los Años, Ayudando con Amor”. Funded through the Fondo de Aportaciones Múltiples para la Asistencia Social (FAM‑AS), the facility provides nursing care, meals, recreational and educational activities, and aims to promote an active, dignified ageing for the municipality’s senior residents.
