Health authorities in Chihuahua are implementing several initiatives to improve medical access and disease prevention. From August 24 to 27, the State Secretariat of Health conducted a specialized training course titled “Reconoce, Trata y Salva. Fiebre Manchada: Diagnóstico temprano, vida salvada” in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua City. Led by infectious disease specialist Jack Noe Salto Quintana from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the program focused on the early detection and treatment of rickettsia, an infectious disease transmitted by infected ticks.

Additionally, the state is expanding community outreach through various health fairs. A tenth “Cuenta Conmigo” health and service fair is scheduled for August 29 at the GazPro Family Development Center in the Los Kilómetros area of Ciudad Juárez. This event will offer 14 different health services, including vaccinations, dental care, and medical consultations, alongside administrative services like birth certificate issuance. These efforts aim to support vulnerable populations who face difficulties traveling to centralized medical facilities.
