Health funding developments in Canoas and Canela

The Municipal Health Foundation of Canoas (FMSC) has obtained the Certificate of Beneficent Entity for Social Assistance in the Health Area (CEBAS). This certification is projected to save the institution approximately R$ 18 million per year by granting immunity from certain social contributions. According to FMSC President Raquel Caetano, these savings are intended to strengthen financial sustainability and allow for increased investment in infrastructure, technology, and professional training.

In Canela, Councilman Nene Abreu has formalized the delivery of R$ 291,048.61 in mandatory amendments to the municipal health department. These funds are designated for the maintenance of hospital and municipal health services, as well as the contracting of elective surgeries for local patients. The allocation includes R$ 100,000 for general service costs and R$ 191,048.61 specifically to support elective surgical procedures.
