Health initiatives and economic strategy focus on Poland

The XIV European Head and Neck Cancer Prevention Week will take place from September 19 to 25. In Poznań, the initiative includes the ‘Make Sense Run & Walk’ on September 19, a 5 km event around Lake Malta. The campaign, organized by the European Head and Neck Society (EHNS), aims to increase awareness, as 60 percent of these cancers are currently detected in late stages, significantly reducing survival rates. Local activities include medical conferences, educational sessions for doctors and youth, and diagnostic days.

Separately, the XXXV Economic Forum in Karpacz will host the Health Protection Forum, bringing together approximately 750 experts from Poland, Europe, and the USA. During the event, Justin Gandy, Managing Director of MSD Poland, emphasized that health should be treated as critical state infrastructure. He noted that while medical innovations impact economic stability and productivity, current healthcare funding in Poland faces challenges in keeping pace with actual GDP and the rising costs of late-stage treatments.
