Health initiatives launch in Argentina and Mexico
Hospital Marcial Quiroga in Argentina will host its first awareness campaign for Language Development Disorder (LDD) from September 21 to 25. The initiative, led by the Speech Therapy Service, aims to promote early detection of difficulties in oral language comprehension and expression in children. The campaign includes neuro-linguistic screenings and interviews with families, who will receive guidance for home language stimulation.
In Mexico, the ‘Mil Sonrisas’ program, driven by the Club Rotario Juárez Paso del Norte, is offering free medical evaluations and potential surgeries for individuals with cleft lip and/or palate. A medical assessment day is scheduled for September 19 at Parque Central. The program aims to improve essential functions such as breathing, eating, and speech, with surgeries planned to take place at the Centro Quirúrgico EMA.
