Health initiatives launched in Brazil's Federal District and Pernambuco

The Institute of Strategic Health Management of the Federal District (IGESDF) has opened five new public notices for permanent hiring. The selection process aims to create a reserve list for higher education professionals, including oncologists, intensive care physicians, nuclear medicine physicians, and analysts for research support and workforce planning. Monthly salaries range from R$ 4,451.35 to R$ 16,030.94, with various benefits such as transportation, food, and health assistance. Applications are open from August 31 to September 9, 2026.

In Pernambuco, the Institute for Health Policy Studies (IEPS) and the Pernambuco State Secretariat of Education have launched a state protocol for psychosocial care in schools. The initiative, supported by the Juntô Brazilian Mental Health Initiative for Children and Adolescents, aims to standardize how the state school network identifies, supports, and protects students facing mental health issues or violence. The protocol is designed to provide a common response framework across the diverse state territory, ensuring care is coordinated with protection networks.
