Health initiatives launched in Guanajuato and Guadalajara
In Guanajuato, Mexico, the Secretary of Health, Gabriel Cortés Alcalá, presided over the eighth anniversary of the Las Joyas Community Hospital. To mark the occasion, the institution launched the First Academic Conferences, a two-day program designed to strengthen the professional training of medical and nursing staff. The curriculum includes topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the treatment of spider bites, diabetes management, and palliative care.
In Guadalajara, Spain, the Blood Donors Association and the Guadalajara Bullfighting Federation have signed a collaboration agreement titled ‘La afición que dona’ (The fans who donate). The campaign aims to increase blood donations during the summer months, a period when reserves typically drop due to holidays. Using bullfighting-inspired imagery, the initiative encourages fans and local residents to donate blood to ensure availability for emergencies, such as injuries sustained during traditional festivities.
