Health initiatives promote cancer awareness in Argentina and Costa Rica

Health initiatives focused on cancer awareness and preventative care are being implemented in Argentina and Costa Rica.

In Tucumán, Argentina, the Ministry of Public Health is deploying a mobile hospital to the Los Ralos commune as part of the ‘La Salud Más Cerca’ program. Scheduled for August 24, the initiative provides free medical services including mammographies, Pap smears, early detection for breast and cervical cancer, ultrasounds for pregnant women, and maternal-child health controls.

In Costa Rica, the organization Hermandad Rosa is organizing the first ‘Caminata Rosa’ (Pink Walk) on October 11. The event aims to raise awareness regarding early breast cancer diagnosis and provide support for patients. The walk will start near Terramall and conclude at Parque Central in Tres Ríos, featuring testimonies from survivors to highlight the emotional and social impacts of the disease.
