Health insights on the causes of coughing and back pain

Common physical symptoms such as coughing and back pain can stem from various causes, ranging from minor irritations to serious underlying medical conditions.

Coughing serves as a protective reflex to clear airways of mucus, dust, or pathogens. While often triggered by viral infections, allergies, or dry air, persistent coughing may indicate asthma, acid reflux, or more severe issues like pneumonia and heart problems. Environmental factors such as smoking and air pollution also contribute to respiratory irritation.

Back pain is frequently linked to physical strain, poor posture, or heavy lifting, typically resolving with rest. However, medical attention is advised if the pain is persistent, worsening, or does not change with position changes. While most cases are muscular, deep and constant pain that does not respond to standard relief may require investigation to rule out more serious conditions.
