Health institutions promote breastfeeding through educational initiatives

Health institutions in Spain and Peru have conducted various educational initiatives to promote and support breastfeeding as a fundamental practice for child development.

In Linares, Spain, the Hospital Universitario San Agustín organized a session during European Breastfeeding Week. The event, held in collaboration with the Asociación Mamateta and the Jaén North Health Management Area, focused on technical aspects such as deep latching, physiotherapy, and infant sleep. Professionals and families participated in discussions aimed at providing rigorous information to help parents make informed decisions.

In Huaraz, Peru, the Hospital Víctor Ramos Guardia held a week of activities under the theme ‘A sustainable start in any circumstance’. The program included awareness marches, informative fairs, and demonstration sessions for pregnant women. The hospital’s efforts emphasized the importance of nutrition, proper breastfeeding techniques, and the role of family support, including partners, in facilitating the breastfeeding process.
