Health insurance benefits: Maximizing dermatology coverage before year-end
As the end of the year approaches, individuals are encouraged to review their health insurance benefits. For many plans, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums reset at the beginning of a new plan year.
If deductibles have already been met or are close to being met, it may be an opportune time to schedule dermatology care. When considered medically necessary, many dermatologic services may be eligible for insurance coverage. This includes the evaluation and treatment of conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea, as well as the diagnosis of skin cancer and the performance of medically necessary skin biopsies.
