Health insurers and scientific research boost yoga and breathing wellness

Health insurance providers in Germany are increasingly funding certified yoga programs as part of preventative care and postnatal support. These specialized courses, such as eight-session programs designed for life after childbirth, are becoming a competitive factor for providers seeking to offer targeted health services.

In parallel, scientific research is reinforcing the value of mental health practices. A Stanford University study published in Cell Reports Medicine indicates that just five minutes of daily breathing exercises, specifically cyclic sighing, can significantly improve mood and reduce negative emotions. A meta-analysis of twelve studies involving 785 adults further supports the effectiveness of targeted breathing techniques in lowering individual stress levels.
