Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete announces new projects in Iași
Romanian Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete has announced plans to establish a new institute for immunological diseases in Iași. The project involves transferring a dilapidated building, currently under the jurisdiction of the Cantacuzino Institute, to the Iași City Hall to facilitate access to European funds. The new institute is intended to be located near a hospital that performs transplant procedures to support the development of the transplant zone. The project may also involve the “Gr. T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
In a separate matter regarding healthcare oversight in the same city, Rogobete has ordered the State Sanitary Inspection to investigate the “Socola” Psychiatric Institute. This follows public reports of a pavilion infested with bedbugs. During an unscheduled visit to the facility, the Minister noted that the pavilion had already been cleared of patients and that disinfection and rehabilitation procedures had commenced.
