Health New Zealand launches ‘F. Meth’ campaign to combat methamphetamine
Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) has launched ‘F. Meth’, a nationwide campaign designed to increase public confidence and resolve in refusing methamphetamine. The initiative aims to empower individuals, families, and communities to push back against the drug and engage in meaningful conversations regarding methamphetamine-related harm.
The campaign was co-created by VML Wellington, the Māori-led agency AWE, All is For All, and The Bakery. It was officially launched at Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira in Porirua, involving community organizations, partner agencies, and individuals with lived experience.
The launch follows wastewater testing data indicating a significant increase in methamphetamine availability in New Zealand over the last three years. The campaign’s name, ‘F. Meth’, represents ‘Facing up to meth’ and ‘Fighting it’ to protect communities and loved ones.
