Health officials conduct syphilis screenings in Pichari, Peru
During a multi-sector operation in the Pichari district of Cusco, Peru, health officials conducted 45 rapid syphilis tests across 11 establishments, including bars and cantinas in the La Curva, La Pampa, and Venus sectors. Three women received reactive results, which require further medical evaluation to confirm a diagnosis and determine treatment.
Authorities also inspected the venues for sanitary conditions and legal compliance. The operation led to the closure of several establishments found to be operating without licenses or failing to meet minimum health standards. Inspectors also identified individuals without national identity documents and women lacking required health cards.
