Health policy updates launched in Taiwan and China
Taiwan has launched ‘Health Coins,’ a digital incentive program managed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The initiative encourages preventive healthcare, such as cancer screenings, vaccinations, and lifestyle assessments, through official apps like Health GO or the National Health Insurance Administration’s mobile platform. Participants can accumulate points to redeem health products, medical services, or exercise classes starting in December.
In China, the National Healthcare Security Administration has upgraded the ‘Medical Insurance Wallet’ to version 2.0. This update enables the cross-province sharing of individual medical insurance accounts among close relatives nationwide. The system supports online operations via the National Healthcare Security Service App and Alipay, as well as offline windows, to facilitate easier access to medical funds across different regions.
