Health prevention initiatives organized in Pachino and Potenza

Various health organizations in Italy are hosting events focused on disease prevention and early diagnosis.

In Pachino, the Rotary Club Pachino, Soroptimist Val di Noto, and Promuovere Onlus organized a meeting titled “Prevenire è vivere” (To prevent is to live). The event addressed breast cancer awareness, specifically focusing on incidence rates in Sicily and the province of Syracuse. Professor Giovanni Trombatore provided data on regional disease spread, and the Asp di Siracusa Breast Unit presented its multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment.

In Potenza, the Azienda Ospedaliera Regionale San Carlo, in collaboration with local associations including Cittadinanzattiva and VivereDonna, announced an open day for November 7, 2026. The initiative aims to identify metabolic and vascular risk factors through free screenings for men and women. The program focuses on detecting issues such as hypertension, glycemic alterations, and cholesterol imbalances to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
