Health science developments in Spain: New leadership and research initiatives

Brisamar Estébanez has taken office as the new Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of León. Her administration aims to consolidate the Medicine degree and strengthen the connection between the university campuses in León and Ponferrada. The faculty manages five degrees, including Nursing, Medicine, Podiatry, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Physiotherapy.

In a separate development, the ASISA Foundation and CEU Cardenal Herrera University (CEU UCH) have established the ASISA-CEU UCH Balmis Chair for Vaccines and Immunization. This multidisciplinary initiative will focus on public health, epidemiology, clinical research, and the social factors influencing vaccine confidence. Dr. José Tuells has been appointed to lead the new chair.
