Health services reorganized in Guarapuava and Dourados

Health services in the Brazilian municipalities of Guarapuava and Dourados are undergoing adjustments to improve local care and manage public health demands.

In Guarapuava, the Vila Carli Basic Health Unit (UBS) is temporarily closing for structural renovations to improve safety and service quality. During this period, services will be redistributed: the Vila Bela UBS will handle multidisciplinary teams including psychology, nutrition, and physiotherapy; the Paz e Bem UBS will operate based on availability; and the Centro UBS will manage scheduled medical and nursing consultations.

In Dourados, health authorities have expanded weekend hours at the Seleta and Santo André UBS units to reduce pressure on Emergency Care Units (UPA). The expansion includes vaccination services at the Medical Care Post (PAM) as part of a national campaign. This measure follows reports of increased respiratory illnesses in the region, with recent epidemiological data showing hundreds of cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SRAG), primarily linked to rhinovirus, Influenza A, and Influenza B.
