Health services report high activity in Zaječar and Niš regions
Health services in Serbia have seen significant activity through both emergency interventions and preventive outreach programs. In Zaječar, the local Health Center reported 113 examinations conducted over a single weekend at the Urgent Care department. Emergency medical teams intervened 59 times, including 22 field responses. Pediatric services saw high volume, with 186 school-aged children and 127 preschool children examined, alongside 37 pediatric examinations. Common reasons for medical visits included gastrointestinal infections, hypertension, and respiratory issues.
In the Niš region, a large-scale preventive medical campaign has successfully completed its first cycle in Ostrovica. Organized by the University Clinical Center Niš and the Institute Niška Banja, the initiative brought medical professionals directly to rural residents to facilitate easier access to care. The program has exceeded expectations, performing over 2,000 preventive examinations across villages in the Niš and Nišavska districts, as well as the municipalities of Aleksinac and Doljevac. Doctors noted that the screenings identified several high-risk cases, including patients with heart issues and gangrene, requiring further diagnostic follow-up.
