Health Show launches in Cantabria to promote science and healthy habits
The first edition of ‘Health Show’ has launched in Santander, Cantabria, engaging approximately 700 primary school students aged 10 to 12. The educational program is promoted by the Pfizer Foundation and developed in collaboration with Big Van Ciencia and the University of Cantabria, with support from the Cantabria Government’s departments of Education and Health.
Running from September through late November 2026, the initiative will reach 11 educational centers. The program utilizes scientific outreach, classroom experimentation, and collaborative work to foster interest in science and promote healthy lifestyle habits. The curriculum addresses contemporary issues relevant to youth, such as nutrition and the influence of social media and screens on health.
During the opening events held at the University of Cantabria, officials emphasized the importance of using interactive and playful methods to teach subjects outside the standard curriculum. The project aims to encourage students to use scientific inquiry and critical thinking to understand their changing bodies and daily habits.
