Health strategies for longevity and physical fitness

Recent perspectives on longevity suggest that extreme dietary restrictions and strict asceticism may accelerate biological aging by inducing chronic stress. Constant deprivation can trigger a continuous release of cortisol, which is linked to muscle loss, weakened immunity, and chronic inflammation. Conversely, conscious enjoyment and social interaction can release neurotransmitters like dopamine and oxytocin, which act as counter-mechanisms to stress hormones and support cellular regeneration.

To maintain physical health, especially for those over 50, regular activity is essential. The World Health Organization recommends between 75 to 150 minutes of intense aerobic activity or 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity per week. Targeted exercises, such as standing twists for abdominal strength, can also be integrated into a routine to improve core stability.
