Health systems in Guinea and Chad undergo performance and laboratory evaluations

In Guinea, the Dabola Prefectural Health Technical Committee met on August 31, 2026, to review the first half of the year. Health structures reported performance levels between 69% and 85%. While governance and resource management showed encouraging results, officials noted ongoing deficiencies in disease prevention and combatting illnesses. Recommendations include strengthening human resources, improving infrastructure, and increasing community participation through health committees.

In Chad, a national workshop opened in N’Djamena to evaluate human and animal health laboratory systems. Supported by the World Bank and Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS) under the HeSP-CEMAC project, the five-day assessment aims to improve early detection and response to epidemic threats. The evaluation focuses on strengthening capacities to manage risks such as cholera, Mpox, yellow fever, Ebola, Marburg, and emerging zoonotic diseases.
