Health technicians in Galicia process 52 disability reports daily

A specialized unit of twenty health technicians based in Santiago is assisting primary care centers in Galicia by managing administrative tasks. Since July, the unit has completed 2,592 health reports required for dependency and disability recognition, averaging approximately 52 reports per working day.

Operating from the Technical-Administrative Support Unit at the Conxo Psychiatric Hospital, these professionals utilize existing clinical histories to prepare documentation. They also conduct telephone follow-ups with patients and caregivers when necessary. This initiative aims to reduce the administrative burden on family doctors, allowing them to focus more on clinical consultations.

In addition to disability reporting, the unit has been managing tens of thousands of actions related to the review and renewal of chronic medication since May, supporting over one hundred health centers across the seven health areas of Galicia.
