Health tips for morning coffee consumption

While coffee can improve alertness and focus through caffeine, improper consumption habits may lead to stomach discomfort, palpitations, or disrupted sleep. To mitigate these issues, several recommendations are suggested for morning drinkers.

First, it is advised not to drink coffee immediately upon waking. Since the body has lacked food and water for several hours, starting the day with water and light movement before breakfast is preferable. Second, individuals should avoid drinking coffee on an empty stomach, as it can stimulate gastric acid secretion and cause heartburn or nausea, especially in those with sensitive stomachs.

Finally, caffeine should not be used as a substitute for adequate sleep. Relying on coffee to compensate for sleep deprivation can mask underlying issues with sleep quality or quantity, and consuming caffeine too late in the day can further interfere with rest.
