Health training and research symposiums announced in Brazil
The Integrated Community Health Movement of the Federal District (MISMEC-DF), in partnership with TEIA – Conexões Sustentáveis, is hosting the first in-person meeting for the 34th class of the Integrative Community Therapy (TCI) training course. The hybrid program aims to prepare professionals in health, social work, and education to lead community therapy circles designed to prevent family crises, violence, and social abandonment.
Developed by Professor Adalberto Barreto, TCI has been part of Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS) since 2017 and is practiced in over 40 countries. The methodology focuses on strengthening community bonds and addressing mental health issues such as anxiety and depression through empathy and support networks.
Separately, FACERES is organizing the 7th International Symposium on Health Teaching and Research (SIEPS) from August 26 to 29, 2026. This online event will also include the 6th Virtual Café of Research Ethics Committees (CEPs). The symposium will cover topics including artificial intelligence in health research, ethical challenges regarding indigenous populations, and the regulation of ethical appreciation processes in Brazil.
