Healthcare access expands in Argentina via new funding and telemedicine agreements

In Argentina, new agreements have been established to expand healthcare access through both public funding and digital services.

In Tierra del Fuego, the Obra Social del Estado Fueguino (OSEF) has reached an agreement with public health providers to improve service delivery. The deal implements a direct financing scheme for public hospitals in Ushuaia, Río Grande, and Tolhuin, while also integrating Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS). The initiative aims to reduce administrative delays and optimize resource management to provide faster responses for OSEF affiliates.

In La Banda, the Sindicato Unión Obreros y Empleados Municipales (SUOEM) has partnered with Plenamente, Consultorio Digital, to launch a telemedicine service. The four-year agreement allows union members to access professional medical consultations via a dedicated contact number at no additional cost, utilizing their union health insurance. The service is intended to provide high-level medical attention during difficult economic conditions.
