Healthcare facilities in Brazil expand capacity through new centers and equipment

Healthcare facilities in Brazil are expanding their capacities through new infrastructure and equipment. In Rio Claro, the Santa Casa has inaugurated the Santa Ágata Oncology Center. The 3,120-square-meter facility includes 24 chemotherapy chairs, six beds, and 11 medical offices, aiming to serve over 1,000 patients per month.

In Porto Velho, the Maternidade Municipal Mãe Esperança has received new medical equipment via the Ministry of Health’s PAC Equipamentos program. The new tools, which include rigid video endoscopy systems and anesthesia machines, will allow the maternity hospital to open an additional operating room. This expansion is expected to increase the capacity for elective surgeries, particularly gynecological procedures, to reduce patient waiting lists.
