Healthcare facilities in Peru and Chile advance operational readiness

In Peru, the Hospital Antonio Lorena in Cusco has begun testing and commissioning its new 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner. This is the first equipment of its kind in southern Peru. The testing phase, managed by the National Health Investment Program (PRONIS) under the Ministry of Health, is designed to verify the performance and safety of the device before it is used on patients. Once operational, the MRI will support specialized studies in neurology, oncology, traumatology, and other fields without using ionizing radiation.

In Chile, staff from the Hospital Clínico Herminda Martín (HCHM) have started induction sessions at the new Hospital Regional de Ñuble. This three-month preparation process aims to familiarize approximately 2,400 employees with the new facility's layout, including surgical units, emergency departments, and administrative areas, to ensure a smooth institutional transition.
