Healthcare improvements underway in Zulia and Goya

Public health initiatives are progressing in Venezuela and Argentina through infrastructure improvements and service reorganization.

In Santa Bárbara del Zulia, Venezuela, the Zulia State Government has reached 95% completion in modernizing the CDI Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías. The project includes structural repairs, painting, waterproofing, and updated lighting. The renovation also focuses on the Integral Rehabilitation Room (SRI) and its therapeutic gym, alongside the reactivation of specialized services such as intensive care, surgery, laboratory, and ophthalmology.

In Goya, Argentina, the Ministry of Public Health has launched the Provincial Program for the Transformation of Integrated Hospital Admission and Emergency. Implemented at the Dr. Camilo Muniagurria regional hospital and the Ángel de la Guarda pediatric hospital, the program aims to organize patient entry through improved triage systems, updated protocols, and better communication with families. The initiative establishes a provincial manual of procedures to ensure clinical classification is based on patient risk rather than arrival order.
