Healthcare initiatives address diabetes and obesity management

In Concepción, Argentina, the Pediatric Endocrinology team at the Regional Hospital organized a specialized session for children with type 1 diabetes, overweight, obesity, and insulin resistance. The initiative, conducted under the guidelines of the Tucumán Ministry of Public Health, focused on promoting healthy eating habits and physical activity to improve quality of life and prevent future complications.

In Spain, the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition (SEEN) has called for the more uniform implementation of diabetes day hospitals within the National Health System. During the 67th SEEN Congress in Santiago de Compostela, specialists advocated for these centers to ensure equitable access to specialized care. These facilities serve as an intermediate resource between routine consultations and hospital admissions, providing rapid care for acute episodes, intensive insulinization needs, and patient education to foster autonomy and prevent complications.
