Healthcare innovation and technology focus in Latin America

Lorice Scalise, head of Roche Farma Brasil, has emphasized the need for innovation to deliver medical solutions to patients more rapidly and with lower social costs. In an interview, Scalise discussed the integration of artificial intelligence, clinical research, and new technologies to address challenges such as an aging population.

Roche, which has operated in Brazil for 95 years, maintains a focus on unmet medical needs through a combination of tradition and continuous renewal. While the company maintains major research centers in the United States, Switzerland, Germany, and Japan, drug development is increasingly a global process involving clinical research across various countries.

In a related development for the regional sector, the 12th edition of the Healthcare Innovation Show (HIS) is scheduled for September 16-17 at the São Paulo Expo. The event, organized by Informa Markets, will focus on technology and innovation in healthcare.
