Healthcare institutions in Bahia achieve milestones in service and oncology excellence

Grupo Santa Helena has marked its 37th anniversary, celebrating its evolution from a single medical clinic in Dias d’Ávila founded in 1989 into an integrated health system in Bahia. The group now provides a wide range of services, including hospitals, 24-hour emergency care, laboratory exams, and corporate health plans. Its operations include specialized facilities such as the Hospital Santa Helena in Camaçari, which offers high-complexity procedures, intensive care, and cardiology services.

Separately, Santa Casa de Itabuna has achieved excellence ratings in pediatric oncology through the PrOFILE AMARTE 2026 evaluation. The institution reached ‘Level A’—the highest excellence tier—in several critical areas, including support care (96%), chemotherapy (93%), surgery (91%), and patient outcomes (84%). The evaluation highlighted the hospital’s structured clinical protocols for treating leukemia and lymphoma, as well as its rigorous safety processes in chemotherapy administration and infection monitoring.
