Healthcare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia report staffing needs

Healthcare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia are facing varying levels of staffing needs and recruitment challenges.

In Vitez, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the public institution Dom zdravlja Vitez has announced a job competition for seven employees across four positions. The vacancies include four doctors of medicine, two family medicine specialists, and one medical administration clerk. Most positions are for indefinite employment, while one specialist role is for a one-year fixed term.

In Zadar, Croatia, the General Hospital Zadar is experiencing a severe shortage of medical staff. Following a recruitment drive for 128 positions, the hospital was only able to hire 35 employees. The shortage is particularly acute among nursing staff; out of 68 requested positions for nurses and technicians, only 13 candidates applied, and only nine met the necessary requirements for employment. Hospital officials noted that the lack of available personnel on the labor market poses a significant organizational challenge.
