Healthcare providers expand kidney transplant and nephrology services in India

Healthcare providers in India are expanding specialized renal services. Max Super Specialty Hospital, Vaishali, has launched a Kidney Transplant Program and Nephrology OPD in Gwalior. These services, held at the Max Patient Assistance Center at Shree Diagnostic Pvt Ltd, will operate on the third Sunday of every month to provide routine follow-ups and kidney health management locally.

In Surat, Shalby Hospital reported the successful completion of 25 kidney transplants over the past 12 months. The facility has performed complex procedures, including South Gujarat’s first private swap kidney transplant and multiple ABO-incompatible transplants. These advancements aim to reduce patient dependency on dialysis and establish Surat as a specialized healthcare hub for complex transplantation.
