Healthcare service disruptions reported in Spain
The Dental College of Pontevedra and Ourense has offered advisory support to patients and professionals following the sudden closure of Kerme Clinic in Moaña. The institution expressed concern regarding the "evident harm" caused to patients whose treatments have been interrupted, as well as the professional uncertainty facing staff. The College noted that such closures are increasingly common in centers not owned by dentists and is working with the Consellería de Sanidade to seek future regulations regarding sanitary responsibility and advertising.
In Cádiz, the Satse nursing union has denounced the continued closure of the Pulmonology ward at the Puerta del Mar Hospital. The union is demanding explanations from hospital management, which has cited a lack of sufficient care resources for the closure. Satse warned that maintaining the ward's closure is particularly concerning ahead of the expected increase in flu and respiratory infections, and expressed concern over the impact on staff currently redistributed across other units.
