Healthcare services expand in Modica and Cassano all'Ionio

New healthcare services are being implemented in Sicily and Calabria. In Modica, the Maggiore Hospital will launch an Intensive Short Observation (OBI) unit on October 6. This service provides a middle ground between the emergency room and hospital ward, allowing patients to remain under clinical monitoring for 6 to 48 hours to determine if they require admission or can be safely discharged.

In Cassano all'Ionio, the Pontenuovo polyclinic will introduce a pulmonology service every Tuesday starting October 6. Managed by the Jonio Nord Health District, the service will diagnose and treat various respiratory conditions, including asthma and chronic bronchitis. Additionally, a free psychosocial service for youth aged 18 to 30, titled ‘Parliamone insieme’, will begin operating at the same location on October 7.
