Healthcare services reorganize in Jesi and Imola

Healthcare services in the Marche and Emilia-Romagna regions of Italy are undergoing significant reorganization through the implementation of new community health hubs.

In Jesi, a new Casa della Comunità (Community House) hub opened on September 23 in via Aldo Moro, located opposite the Carlo Urbani Hospital. This centralized facility integrates services previously spread across multiple locations, including medical continuity (formerly the guardia medica), home care, and a single point of access. The hub also hosts specialist clinics for cardiology, physiotherapy, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and urology. While most services have moved, blood collection remains at the via Guerri site.

In Imola, the Urgent Care Center (CAU) is set to close, transitioning into an AFT (Aggregazioni Funzionali Territoriali) clinic starting October 1. According to Ausl health director Paolo Tarlazzi, this new model will feature two doctors providing coverage 12 hours a day, seven days a week. The AFT will focus on services typically provided by general practitioners that cannot be deferred, representing a shift in the local primary care contractual framework.
