Healthcare updates: Labor disputes in Bosnia and robotic surgery in Croatia

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of Hercegbosanska županija addressed a labor dispute after several doctors submitted their resignations. Officials Ivan Vukadin and Dijana Novković Pećanac stated that the government is adhering to the 2024 collective agreement, which ensures continuous salary increases through 2026. The government highlighted that healthcare investments have grown annually, with 8.3 million convertible marks allocated for 2025 and 7.5 million for 2026.

In Croatia, KBC Rijeka has successfully performed its first robotic surgery procedures at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics. The implementation of this technology, following a state-funded procurement of over 5.1 million euros, allows for highly precise, minimally invasive operations. The robotic system provides high-resolution 3D visualization and filters natural hand tremors, offering patients smaller incisions and improved recovery outcomes.
