Healthtech firms Aeon and Heidi secure major funding and expansions
The European healthtech sector is seeing significant capital movement and consolidation. Zurich-based preventive healthcare provider Aeon has closed a strategic seed extension, bringing its cumulative seed financing to over $14 million. Alongside this funding, Aeon has acquired the core operational and technological assets of Berlin-based blood diagnostics company Aware Health. This acquisition includes Aware Health’s regulated diagnostic infrastructure and phlebotomy network, intended to accelerate Aeon’s clinical roadmap by approximately two years.
Separately, the Melbourne-founded healthtech scaleup Heidi has secured $340 million in new capital to expand its AI platform for medical professionals. This includes a $100 million Series C round led by Blackbird, which values the company at $900 million, and $240 million in growth financing from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. Heidi intends to use the funds for international expansion and to strengthen its presence in the DACH region, focusing on AI-driven clinical documentation and administrative support.
