Hearing aid distribution programs launched in Irapuato and Torreón

Local governments in Mexico are implementing programs to provide free hearing aids to citizens in need.

In Irapuato, the “Escuchemos juntos 2026” program, a collaboration between the Municipal DIF System and Centro Comercial Bara, has distributed 110 hearing aids to 61 residents aged 10 to 96. The initiative was supported by a donation of over 662,000 pesos from the private sector to assist individuals with varying degrees of hearing loss.

In Torreón, Coahuila, the state government is distributing 131 free hearing devices. The program, coordinated by the Coahuila Secretary of Health, DIF Coahuila, and municipal DIF systems, includes guidance on device maintenance and usage. Health Secretary Eliud Aguirre Vázquez noted that similar efforts are underway in Saltillo, with plans to expand coverage to additional municipalities.
