Heart attack prevention through lifestyle and early screening

Cardiovascular diseases remain a leading cause of death globally and regionally. Medical experts emphasize that many heart attacks can be prevented through simple, sustained lifestyle changes and early monitoring.

Specialist Santiago Coreleu from Sanatorio Central Banda notes that common risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, and sedentary lifestyles often act silently without immediate symptoms. He advises that individuals in early adulthood should periodically monitor their blood pressure, glucose levels, cholesterol, and body weight, especially if there is a family history of cardiac events.

Other observations highlight a rising trend of heart attacks in individuals under 50. Contributing factors include chronic stress, poor sleep, excessive sugar consumption, chemical additives in food, and constant digital connectivity, which can lead to a neglect of physical warning signs like fatigue or unexplained pain in the back or left arm.
